Overview

The Pindari Glacier Trek is one of the most popular and beginner-friendly Himalayan treks located in the Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand (Kumaon Himalayas). The trek starts from Khati Village, which serves as the base camp, and covers about 26 km one way (52 km round trip) to reach the glacier’s Zero Point at 3,660 meters altitude. The classic route follows Khati – Dwali – Phurkiya – Zero Point – return same way and usually takes 4 trekking days plus 2 travel days.

This trek is considered moderate difficulty, suitable for beginners with basic fitness. The best time to visit is mid-April to mid-June (spring/summer) and mid-September to mid-November (autumn), while winter and monsoon seasons remain officially closed due to snow and landslides. The glacier is environmentally significant as the source of the Pindar River and is widely studied for climate change research.

It is also uniquely positioned between the Kafni Glacier Trek (left side) and Sunderdhunga Glacier Trek (right side), making this region one of the most famous glacier trekking zones in Uttarakhand.

You can plan the Pindari Glacier Trek with us anytime between 15 April to 15 June and 15 September to 15 November. Whether you are traveling solo or in a group, we are happy to organize your trek and ensure a safe, memorable Himalayan experience.
